Organic or Not - part tres
We all want to use the safest, most natural products we can here in California - it's not just what we eat, it's what we use in our lives. We know our farmers, and in some cases the people that keep the chickens who lay our eggs. That's a wonderful feeling - to know the folks who are growing the food we eat and the products we use.
We don't buy vitamins or pharmaceuticals or nutraceuticals made in China because of the risk of adulteration.
But when it comes to skincare, all natural doesn't always work. That's why I'm using the products from the creators of ProActiv - Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields. No the products are not ALL natural or organic, but they are as scent-free as one can imagine, and the ingredients are tested for clinical effects. And the products do have a lot of natural ingredients.
So here is the message from the wonderful doctors who are changing skin and changing lives:

How sensitive are you?
Some of us tend to think our skin isn't that sensitive, and we regularly abuse it by not wearing sunscreen all of the time, not drinking enough water, and generally ignoring our skin's need for cleaning and moisturizing and treating other ongoing conditions.
But when you start using a new product or product set, you may find that you are more sensitive than expected. If you have redness as a result of a cleanser it could be caused by:
Something in the cleanser you're allergic or sensitive to
The way you're using the product such as scrubbing too hard or applying or removing it in too rough a way
Using it with water that can be an irritant
Not following it with an appropriate moisture replacement
I have found that I'm using very little water on my face these days. I'm using a very mild cleanser and taking it off with a very fine, hospital-grade gauze pad. This seems to work for me in minimizing any skin sensitivity issues for my akin, which I know is ultra-sensitive after years of rosacea irritation. While my rosacea is well managed at last, I still have to contend with sensitive skin issues all of the time so I don't lapse back into redness and severe outbreaks.

Out and About Two
I've started keeping a bottle of sunscreen in my car console - what a good idea is that in California and other places where we have sunshine most of the year! It makes it easy to reapply through the day, and if it's easy, we do it. If it's not easy, we usually don't. So much for the discipline of our routines...
We all like to have maximum benefits with minimum effort, and that's possible if you follow a great regimen.
Like getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, and using sunscreen all of the time.
Water, water, water - everywhere
